The Tipo 8A possessed power and speed, that was synonimous by its refined engineering of the large eight cylinder engine. With the length of the engine being so grand, it allowed the coachbuilder to produce a long hood and cowl, which made the Tipo 8 so recognizable. Castagna artisans, once again, created a stunning cabriolet. This model was first displayed at the prestigous Hotel Commodore in New York in 1929 and was so popular that ten others, called "Commodore" were built. This is one of two know to exist.
